ANSTO is one of Australia's foremost scientific research and development organisations, focusing on delivering the benefits of nuclear science to the Australian community, particularly through the operation of Australia's state-of-the art OPAL Nuclear Research Reactor which also produces the majority of Australia's nuclear medicines. This opening, at the associate or assistant Scientist level, will participate in the operation of the small-angle-scattering neutron beam instruments at ANSTO. This includes Quakka and the new instruments Kookaburra and Bilby. This person will champion the soft condensed matter component of the neutron research program at the NSRRC and will have the ability to write proposals to the National Science Council to support their research interests. We are looking for applicants with: . A PhD (or equivalent) in one of the physical sciences (chemistry, physics, material science, earth science, etc). 2 Years Postdoctoral experience . Research experience in soft matter . The ability and drive to pursue an independent research programme A competitive compensation package is available and the position should be considered permanent after a 1 year probationary period.
