Spins in solids can have remarkably long coherence times, reaching up to several hours. They can be readily integrated with superconducting circuits and cooled down to millikevin temperatures. Ensembles of spins are thus well suited to implement a quantum memory for superconducting qubits, able to store many qubit states in the same crystal.
We are looking for a motivated postdoc candidate to develop such a quantum memory based on NV centers in diamond or Bismuth donors in silicon, according to a proposed scheme . The applicant should have a PhD in physics, ideally with a strong background in quantum physics, spin physics, or circuit quantum electrodynamics.
The laboratory includes a fully equipped nanofabrication facility. The measurements will be made in dilution cryostats equipped for low-noise microwave measurements. Samples are available through various worldwide collaboractions
